15-year-old arrested for allegedly killing 1 teen, injuring 3 others at after prom party

FITZGERALD, Ga. (TCD) — State investigators arrested a 15-year-old after he allegedly opened fire at a prom after-party, killing one person and injuring three others.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), on Sunday, April 28, at approximately 1:10 a.m., the Fitzgerald Police Department received a call about a shooting on the 300 block of East Pine Street and found four people suffering from gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital, where 15-year-old Chyell Paulk was pronounced deceased. A 19-year-old and two other minors were wounded.

Fitzgerald Police contacted the GBI for assistance in their investigation, and they took over. The GBI announced Sunday that they took a 15-year-old into custody on one count of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

WALB-TV reports the 19-year-old has been released from the hospital, while a 15-year-old male victim was transported to another hospital in critical condition. The third victim is reportedly a 14-year-old male.
