More than $500,000 has been donated publicly to the families of six people killed in the stabbing attack in Sydney’s Bondi Junction.
Verified fundraisers set up by the loved ones of victims Ashlee Good, Jade Young and Faraz Tahir have received an outpouring of money and supportive comments on online donations platform GoFundMe.

Good was a 38-year-old first-time mother who died protecting her 9-month-old baby, who was seriously injured in the attack and still in hospital.

A fund for Good’s daughter Harriet and husband Dan has reached over $450,000 in donations.

“We have been overwhelmed by requests from loved ones and strangers wanting to support Dan and Harriet as they face life without their beloved Ash,” fundraiser organiser Stephen Foxwell wrote.
“Being a mother to baby Harriet and partner to Dan was Ash’s whole life. Her love and commitment to them was evident to all who knew her.

“We are united in our devastation that her bright future was cut short in this way. Her beautiful and warm spirit, drive and energy inspired us all.”

Faraz Tahir was described as a “hero” who fought to save others during the stabbing attack before he died.
His cousin Shakeel Qureshi set up a page for Tahir’s siblings, who do not live in Australia.
“At Bondi Junction, this was his first day on the job; he put other people’s lives before his and was killed while defending others,” Qureshi wrote.

“Support is needed for Faraz’s siblings, who face persecution and financial hardship. They wish to afford travel expenses to see their brother’s body before his burial and cover funeral costs.”

A Pakistani refugee, Tahir had come to Australia in recent years and sent money back to his family.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim community to which he belonged has said it will take care of Faraz’s family “in every way possible”.
A friend of Young set up a fundraiser for her husband and two daughters which has raised nearly $100,000.
Three other people — Dawn Singleton, Pikria Darchia and Yixuan Cheng were also killed by 40-year-old Joel Cauchi. Twelve other people were injured.
Police are examining whether Cauchi was motivated by a hatred of women, saying it was in the attack.
