BATON ROUGE, La. (TCD) — Police recently arrested a woman in Houston after she allegedly shot a man in a Louisiana parking garage after meeting him online.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, 23-year-old Latoria Matthews met a man on Instagram. On April 7, Matthews reportedly picked up the victim and drove him to a parking garage, where they planned to have sex.

Police allege that as the victim got ready to have sex with Matthews, she shot him numerous times, causing injuries that were not life-threatening. The man safely escaped from the car and sought help. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

According to police, Matthews fled the state to Houston, but officials took her into custody and she was extradited back to Baton Rouge. Matthews was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish jail on charges of second-degree attempted murder and illegal use of a weapon.
