Nicki Minaj has been arrested in the Netherlands for alleged drug possession.
The background: The US rapper was travelling to Manchester in the UK on Saturday evening as part of her Pink Friday World Tour when she was detained at Amsterdam airport.
In a series of social media posts, Minaj claimed that police said they “found weed” in her luggage after items were checked by customs.

Cannabis is illegal in the Netherlands, but it is tolerated for recreational use.

Key quote: “We never confirm the identity of a person in custody but I can confirm we have arrested a 41-year-old woman suspected of trying to export soft drugs to another country.” — Netherlands military police spokesperson Robert Kapel
What else to know: Minaj said her security “already advised” authorities that drugs in her bag belonged to them, and not her.
What happens next: Minaj was released after being detained for a few hours, but will have to reschedule her Manchester show.
