I support MIT’s decision to not require diversity statements, as true inclusion should be demonstrated through actions and values, not just words on a paper.

  2. As a long-time supporter of diversity initiatives, I believe that while these statements can be valuable, they should not be a mandatory requirement for prospective faculty at MIT. Diversity should be embraced organically, and not forced through mandatory declarations.
