TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (TCN) — Police are working to identify a person of interest in connection with the death of a 69-year-old therapist whose remains were located over the weekend.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 29, William Abraham’s body was found wrapped in a tarp along Highway 51. The Coroner’s Office determined Abraham died of blunt force trauma.
In a statement obtained by WAFB-TV, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Gerald Sticker called it a “very physical and very violent attack.” The sheriff said, “He was bludgeoned about in the head, shoulders, and neck. There was a lot of bruising, what have you.”
Investigators believe Abraham was allegedly killed at another location on the night of Saturday, Sept. 28, and then his remains were dumped along the road.
Authorities reportedly recovered the victim’s stolen vehicle. According to WAFB, an individual crashed the car, exited, and fled on foot, but that person was not taken into custody.
The sheriff’s office posted surveillance photos and said they’re seeking information about a male who was the last person driving Abraham’s car.
