In the wake of the assassination attempt on Trump, Biden is calling for unity and calm. Somehow it sounds familiar.
Unity and Calm
“The political rhetoric in this country has gotten very heated. It’s time to cool it down,” Biden said Sunday.
Over the course of presidential campaign, Biden has called former president Trump “a threat to democracy”, “a genuine threat to this nation”, and “a threat to our freedom.”
We need to put away the harsh rhetoric and listen to each other. Now, where have we heard this before? Oh, I remember.

The Bible tells us to everything there is a season, a time to build, a time to reap and a time to sow. And a time to heal. This is the time to heal in America.
I’ll work as hard for those who didn’t vote for me as those who did. Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end here and now.

I’m confused as to how we got here. Didn’t Biden put his soul into being a unity candidate?
By any chance was it lies, deceit, woke madness, lawfare, constitutional challenges to keep Trump off the ballot, a massive takeover by the Progressive wing after pledging to be a moderate, comparing Trump to Hitler, calling Trump a threat to the nation, a threat to democracy and a threat to our freedom?
And now in the wake of an assassination attempt, It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, and see each other again.
Silly me. I thought we have been doing that for four years while defending the constitution and our borders.
